Hello! Your article, “When Stimulants Help With Anxiety” changed my life. I know you wrote that on June 20, 2018 – but Pysch Central has removed all of the testimonial comments that the original post you created had.
I was wondering if you might have screenshots of those people (myself included) that commented anonymously on the article somewhere or a link to the OG article on your current website with the comments? They were very encouraging to me and helped me with my own medication management with my psychiatrist! It just stinks that the new PyschCentral has eliminated the ability to comment and all of your previous comments. 🙁
Hi Michael, thanks for finding me over here! Yeah, Psych Central changed ownership last August. I’m not writing over there anymore, and it’s too bad the comments are gone because those were some of the most useful content in a way. But I do, in fact, have a database backup with all the comments up until the ownership change in August. After that, I have all the comments except for some of my own. I can put them all in a file and send it to the email you posted this comment from. Hope things have been going well!
I have all kinds of mental illnesses. I believe if I have one more, I win the free trip. I’ve been diagnosed with severe depression disorder. ADHD, general anxiety disorder, seasonal associative depressive disorder. I have PTSD. I have seen several different psychiatrist that I’ve vetted very strongly. I was diagnosed with all the above, but my depression actually is bipolar 2. How do I have skeptics especially people that are very important to me and people that I need for support like my mother and close friends believe me, or with regard to ADHD and particular. All the signs that you pointed out very clearly in the numerous articles. It’s heartbreaking and frustrating as hell since mental illness is such a root cause of so many problems today and society wants to put Band-Aids, on them, rather than understanding the root cause for problems. mass shootings, changing the sex of children, all abnormal behavior have a common denominator. Obviously, neurodivergence. Yet it’s been ignored. They put so much energy into Band-Aids. Banning a certain type of weapon will not prevent shootings or suicides. Telling a woman to leave her partner because he is controlling and abusive is not going to solve any problems. The more energy that is put towards that is going to distract and take away Real solutions, which is addressing the mental illness from the perpetrators, and the changes that are done to people which change the way they behave in some cases permanent. The real issue I have is people are ignoring it, because people do not believe that it’s real. my main purpose and question is how do I convince someone that the symptoms are real my symptoms are holding me back and I am not being lazy or incompetent. My mother is a widow. My ex-wife left me in 2014 and went back to Italy with my children illegally. My brother was murdered in 1995. Girlfriend of nine years died of fentanyl overdose. These things have done wonders to my mental illnesses. I’m a very intelligent. I speak multiple languages fluently I’m I’m very cultured. Constantly trying to learn everything I can that is of interest. I am able to find credible sources. I’m not a conspiracy theorist. I want to be aware and informed, and I do so by watching the news outlets from several different countries as well as United States, and I look at opposite viewpoint and constructive dialogue so that I am not biased or manipulated. I’m very proud of who I am but I’m very frustrated with my inability to be who I was and accomplish what I have. The awards and recognition that I’ve received in corporate America are very impressive. Please understand my passion, and trying to communicate that right now I am unable to be my best. I moved back with my mother after my father passed to help her and also myself. We live very well financially. Im helping her gain independence after my father‘s passing. I have found the resources that she needs in order to have the stability security that she desires. If I don’t know how to do something I’ll find someone who does. She’s better off financially, as well stability, and security since I’ve been here and she will agree. she’s also showing excellent signs of independence which she did not have with my father. I am deteriorating fast. She does not believe mental illness is real. She has been toxic to me emotionally and mentally. I am desperate and having her become more aware that mental illness is real and the symptoms that I display are real and I am working my best to cure. She understands that I do see a psychiatrist and I’m my medication. Im 48. I’m on disability. I see my psychiatrist and psychologist regularly and medicated appropriately. She is causing a lot of damage and she is bringing me backwards because of lack of understanding of my restrictions. I am desperate and trying to find a way that I can show her that I have these symptoms and I’m doing my best not to live them and I have not been successful yet, so I’m asking for your help, especially with ADHD, which is the main driver, which has been the biggest cause of fighting an arguments and communication breakdowns. I need her to understand that these behaviors are real and they are being treated but they are still there and I’m still working on them so I’m asking for your help
